Baptist Christianity is a Protestant denomination of Christianity that has been around for centuries. Unlike other versions of Christianity, Baptist Christianity does not require that a person be baptized as part of their Christian practice. In essence, it is a religion based solely on belief rather than sacrament. An individual’s faith in God and their commitment to the teachings of Jesus Christ are the foundation from which their practice of Baptist Christianity is built.

The roots of Baptist Christianity can be traced back to the 16th century in England. The philosophy of Baptist Christianity centered around the primacy of Scripture, as well as individual interpretation and practice of the faith.

Baptists believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and that he accomplished salvation through his death and resurrection. They see the Bible as a divinely inspired book, meant to provide guidance and instruction to believers. Some of the key tenants of the faith include the primacy of Scripture and the importance of a personal relationship with God, as well as core values like compassion, justice and non-judgement.

Baptists emphasize the importance of grace and personal responsibility. They also typically promote religious liberty, allowing members of their faith to practice whatever beliefs they choose. Along with this freedom comes the emphasis that believers should pursue holiness in their lives.
