Judaism is a monotheistic religion that originated in the Middle East and is now the world’s oldest and largest religious group. Judaism is based on the belief that one God exists, incomprehensible and mysterious. It is a faith that transcends time, place, and culture and emphasizesethical behavior, ethics, and faithfulness.

Judaism’s central belief is that there is only one God, whom they call YHWH (or Yahweh). Jews also believe that God is an active force in the world, and that He interacts with the people and events of their lives. Jews believe that the proper response to God’s presence is to recognize God and serve Him in all that they do.

The Hebrew Bible is the most important sacred text of Judaism, and the Tanakh is the ancient Jewish oral tradition. Jewish beliefs, values, and laws are based on these texts, which include a variety of laws and ethical principles, such as the observance of Shabbat (the Sabbath), dietary restrictions, and ethical behaviors. These laws and principles are intended to guide Jewish life closer to God.

Judaism teaches that the world was created by God for a purpose and has a moral order, and that humans are commanded to follow this moral order. This is considered to be the basis of Jewish morality, and it is exemplified in the Ten Commandments, which are assumed to be basic guidelines for any Jew’s behavior. Jews also believe that God has promised to bring about a time when all peoples will live in peace.
