Buddhism is a religion that began in India over 2,500 years ago. The founder of Buddhism was Siddhartha Gautama. Siddhartha Gautama was born a prince, but he left his palace and family to search for the truth about life. After years of study and meditation, Siddhartha Gautama became the Buddha. The Buddha taught that the way to end suffering is to end our desires. This can be done by following the Eightfold Path. The Four Noble Truths are another important teaching of the Buddha. The Four Noble Truths are: 1) life is suffering; 2) suffering is caused by our desires; 3) we can end our suffering by ending our desires; and 4) we can follow the Eightfold Path to end our desires.<\/p>\n
