Islam is a religion that began in the 7th century in the Arabian Peninsula. It is a monotheistic religion, which means that Muslims believe in one God. Muslims believe that Muhammad is the final prophet of Islam. The Quran is the holy book of Islam. Muslims must pray five times a day – at dawn, noon, afternoon, sunset, and evening. They must also fast during the month of Ramadan.<\/p>\n

Islam was formed in the early seventh century, when the Prophet Muhammad received a revelations from God that were later compiled into the Quran. Islam spread quickly throughout the Arabian Peninsula and beyond, becoming one of the world’s major religions.<\/p>\n

How and why was Islam created? <\/h2>\n

The Prophet Muhammad and his followers were welcomed in the city of Medina and the faith grew. The growth and spread of Islam began when the Prophet Muhammad began sharing his divine revelations and spreading messages he received from Allah (god). The Prophet Muhammad and his followers were persecuted and had to flee to the neighboring city of Medina in 622. There he and his followers were welcomed and the faith grew.<\/p>\n

The start of Islam is marked in the year 610, following the first revelation to the prophet Muhammad at the age of 40. Muhammad and his followers spread the teachings of Islam throughout the Arabian peninsula. Islam teaches that there is only one God, and that Muhammad is his prophet. Muslims believe in the Quran, the holy book of Islam, and follow the Five Pillars of Islam, which are the five basic tenets of the Islamic faith.<\/p>\n
