What Does The Bible Say?
Salvation in Christianity is nothing short of the eternal source of hope and freedom that believers in Jesus Christ seek to experience. When people come to Jesus Christ and accept Him into their lives, they can be forgiven for their past and present sins through His grace and mercy. Romans 8:1-2 states, “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.”
This means that saved individuals no longer have to carry their sins with them, enabling them to start their life anew and live according to God’s will. In addition, they will receive an everlasting life with God in Heaven after death. In 1 Corinthians 15:54-57 it says, “When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: ‘Death is swallowed up in victory.’ ‘O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?’ The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

This means that our ultimate purpose should be to glorify God in all that we do, for as Matthew 5:16 states, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

In John 16:7-8, Jesus said, “Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment.”
