The Seven Concepts of Hinduism
Hinduism has seven basic concepts that form the core of the faith. These concepts include:
- Karma
- Dharma
- Atman
- Brahman
- Moksha

All of the decisions and actions you take will have consequences in the future, and will determine your fate in the afterlife. Dharma is the concept of justice, righteousness, and morality. It is based on the Hindu teachings of Dharma Shastras, which are ethical texts based on the Vedas.
Atman is the internal and eternal aspect of the human self that is divine in quality. It is the soul or essence of a person, and is the foundation of their identity. Brahman is the supreme spiritual force that is found in all of creation. It encompasses all existence, and is the source of all knowledge and wisdom.
Moksha is the ultimate goal of Hinduism, and is the attainment of the highest spiritual liberation. It is the realization of the Brahman, and means freedom from the cycle of death and rebirth. Karma
Karma is an important concept in Hinduism, and is based on the premise that your actions and decisions have lasting effects throughout your life and beyond. Everything that you do and say falls under the law of karma, which is a spiritual law that holds every action accountable. This means that when you do something good, it will result in positive effects or rewards, while when you do something bad, there will be negative consequences.
The concept of karma is central to the teachings of Hinduism, as it is seen as a way to encourage moral and ethical behavior. The law of karma states that you will be rewarded or punished based on your actions, which provides an incentive to act virtuously. In this way, you can ensure your spiritual growth and progress in the afterlife.
Karma is not only seen as physical cause and effect, but also as spiritual cause and effect. This means that your actions can have an effect on your spiritual growth and development as well. Good actions and decisions can result in spiritual rewards, while bad actions and decisions can have a detrimental effect on your spiritual journey.
Dharma
Dharma is another important concept in Hinduism, and is closely related to karma. It is based on the idea of justice, righteousness, and morality, and is the foundation of Hindu ethical and moral teachings. Dharma is rooted in the Hindu scriptures and dictates the proper conduct for an individual to lead a virtuous life.
Dharma asks that we act according to our own conscience and question our actions to determine whether or not they are moral. It is an individual responsibility to make decisions that are virtuous and to make sure that our actions are not harmful to anyone. Dharma also requires us to be generous and compassionate to those around us, and to treat others with respect and kindness.
